A Baker's Dozen

I'm thrilled to share this book with you. The wonderful staff of That Patchwork Place have outdone themselves with this collection of thirteen quilts made from pre-cut fabrics -- jelly rolls, layer cakes, honey buns, charm squares, and fat quarters.
Don't have pre-cut fabrics? No problem. You can use your own fabrics if you refer to the "Stash Option" box provided for each project.
Aren't the quilts beautiful?  The directions are straightforward and easy to follow, and include tips for working with pre-cut fabrics, using fusible web, machine blanket stitching, freezer-paper applique', pieced binding, and pinked edges.
I love the applique' designs on the quilts.  The applique' is a nice touch, and yet you won't need to spend a lot of time to achieve the magic that applique' can work on your quilt.  Nice, easy designs.  No sharp points or drastic curves!
I really want to keep this book!  But since the nice people at Martingale & Company were kind enough to send it to me, I decided I should be at least as generous and share it with you.  So if you'd like to own this book, just leave a comment and tell me what you like about it.  I'll be back Tuesday evening for the drawing.

Good luck!
Kim

How generous! I don't own any books using pre-cuts for quilts and I've yet to buy any jelly rolls or honey buns. Having the book would make me very likely to finally buy "bakery" products. I also like the stash option.

Looks awesome! It sounds like your book where you can use the precuts or your own stash. I really like that. I am working on your kitchen sink quilt at the moment.

What do I love about your book? The lovely simplicity of the designs that look difficult, but in reality they are are so very doable, and, the stash option. Love that option! I feel that I need to use from my stash and until now I have felt so left out of the game because of the use of pre-cuts. Thank you for making this book work for all of us! :-D

Hmm...guess I should thank the folks at That Patchwork Place, too! Are you sure you want to give up your copy? Looks really nice...

Thank you. I am just grateful to you for posting the photos. The best part about them is that they show you how to take a very simple concept and just by adding colour and thought in your layout and design, you can make something really stunning. A great book to get someone totally addicted to patchworking - but then aren't we all already?

My curiosity is piqued! What are they doing with pinked edges? I would love to read about that, and also take a look at the freezer paper appliqué directions. I still don't really understand how to do that. Thank for the preview! Karmen
