Bad Kim

I've been a little absent lately.  Way too many things going on all at once.  Finishing a new book, starting a new job (same firm, different position), visiting my mother and my mother-in-law, and slowly getting around to doing a little yard work.  This kind of yard work:

I've managed to squeeze in a few minutes for sewing.  My friend Karen asked me if I wanted to make a pineapple quilt.  I said, "Sure, whatever."  Only Karen thinks I said, "Yippee!  I've always wanted to make a pineapple quilt!  Can we start today?!"  (Okay, so Karen's recollection is a little more accurate.)  And now I'm knee-deep in brightly-colored strips.

Karen and I have been sharing strips since neither of us have tons of bright fabrics.   This is my first and only block, but I'm hoping to find a little free time soon.   Fingers crossed.

Hope all of you are doing well.  I'll be by to visit soon!

Kim

By golly gosh darn happy to hear from you, Kim! As another Karen I have to say I do think it's most likely you said: "Yippee! I've always wanted to make a pineapple quilt! Can we start today?!" because that's what us Karen's tend to do. We're very yippee! yahooie! type people.

And this block is absolutely Yippee! Love it. Can't wait for you to have more time to whip out a few more. :)

Yours Truly as another Karen. *karendianne.

I admire pineapple quilts, but I'm not sure that I have what it takes to make one. Your block is really pretty. I hope it has some more to join it soon. If you need bright scraps let me know. I might have a few.

WOW, your block is gorgeous! I have never made a pineapple quilt before - I just might have to now. Is the ruler in the picture to help you with pineapple blocks? If so, what kind is it? I love gadgets and rulers that make quilting easier and more precise. I can't wait to see more of your blocks - and a new book. Good things are coming!

I like your pineapple block. I have all the supplies I need (a couple books and a ruler that looks suspiciously like yours) but haven't started one yet. I like the brights you're using.
Welcome back, and I'm looking forward to your new book!

Yard work should consist of planting pretty flowers don't you think? Love the happy pineapple block. Is that a new blog banner? I love it.

I'd like to defend myself :)!! You did tell me once that we "needed" to do a pineapple quilt. At least with this project there aren't any deadlines!! I guarantee - you are going to have fun and you're going to love it when we're finished!

Thanks for posting a photo of your pineapple block! It provided the inspiration I needed for the scraps from another project. It will be some time before I can begin a new project, but this will work great with my scraps. Take care!

That is going to be a happy quilt. I have a red/white and blue pineapple quilt I started years ago. I stopped because I didn't want to tear all that paper off the back. lol I really should put it together. There alot of fun to make.
What are ya doin with that pile of bricks???
