Binding Tip

Has anyone seen my Easy Angle ruler? My play room (studio sounds too much like work) looks like a tornado came through, and I can't find anything. But I did find a Fons & Porter triangle trimmer. The pink one is perfect for trimming the ends of binding strips.

Stack three or four strips together, right sides up, and trim the ends like this. Trim the opposite ends the same way.
Pin two strips together.
Sew a 1/4" seam along the edge.
Press the seam open to reduce bulk.
Don't you wish everything could be this easy?

  1. Yes! Great tip. Much better than what I'm doing now... which is not-a-thing as they stack up and wait.

Really I was thinking your tip might be "barter or hire out." hee!

  3. What a clever thingy that is. I've never seen it before. As for the state of your studio, don't worry the Queen (or more likely for you, the President) won't be able to drop in for afternoon today.

  13. It is the perfect sized triangle! I have a larger triangle I use for cutting binding strips, only because that's what I have. But, that one would be easier to handle. :o)

  19. QUICK QUESTION - when you say "Trim the opposite ends the same way" do you mean from looking at the photo above - you just trimmed the right side of the strip... so you mean go to the left side of the strips and then rotate that red F&P triangle trimmer a 90* turn to the left so that the side with the arrows is at the bottom???

Just want to clarify.. thanks. ;)

  21. I am confused. The opposite ends is the angle facing the same way or is it mirror image or something else?
