Do you have little bits of leftover 2 1/2" strips and charm squares? What do you do with them?
I'm playing around with a couple of things, and I've cut the leftovers into smaller pieces (ugh!) for a wildly scrappy quilt. Here's a sample of some of the fabrics. Maybe a solid white background to pull it together?
My friend Kathy has a new blog (Needle Delights Originals)! Kathy is a fellow quilting guild member, but she also designs counted needlepoint, and owns and operates a needlework store. I haven't tried counted needlepoint, but I'm in love with her designs that look like quilts. Like this one:
Her brick-and-mortar store is in Pensacola, Florida, but she also has an e-store here. So if you love needlepoint, quilts, or both, stop by and take a look.
Have a great week!
Kim
Please don't hurt me....I put them in my scrap bin ....
ReplyDeleteNo pics showed up for me! But love Kathy's designs and Needle Delights is a great shop!Love your books, Kim!
ReplyDeleteNope -- no pics.
ReplyDeleteNo pics showed for me either, but there IS a little thumbnail photo in the list of blogs down the right side of my blog. Now that's weird!
ReplyDeleteI hopped over to Kathy's blog. Her designs are phenomenal!
Regarding leftover scraps, sporadically I'll cut them into squares, put them into labeled boxes, and then I look at them. But I do have 2 books from Bonnie Hunter, and I'm starting to sew the squares together as Leaders and Enders. Maybe I'll end up with a couple scrappy quilts some day.
I don't see the pictures either...but I really want to!
ReplyDeleteNo pics but would love to see them!
ReplyDeleteNo pictures here either. I use the strips and charm squares for most of my quilts as I like a scrappy look. The charm squares are great for the Li'l Twister quilt or for the disappearing 9-patch. I'll be back later to see if your pics are up yet. Your friend Kathy's needlework is awesome!
ReplyDeleteIf I click on where the pictures should show up, the pictures open for me. Love your scraps! I just keep them! The needlework is beautiful......thanks for sharing it :-)
ReplyDeleteI love your scraps especially those with pinked edges - I use them for applique, strip piecing and just for the memories of things I have done with them....

Can't see the piccies either. I recently got your 2nd book, so I'm mulling over which project to start first ... but I'd love to see more ideas for the 'little' bits too!! Currently I save 2.5" squares and 2.5" x 4.5" bricks and sometimes use them for borders, etc :)
ReplyDeleteI had the same problem with the pictures on my post this week. You are good to go now. Can't wait to see what you are making from leftovers:)
