Weekend Fun

It seems there is an issue with Blogger that hasn't been resolved.  I am only able to leave comments on blogs that have the comments page set to pop up in a different window.  If the comments page is embedded, I'm unable to leave a comment.  Hopefully the issue will be resolved soon.  I haven't forgotten about you, and I'm visiting every chance I get.

The Azalea City Quilters' Guild held its quilt show on Saturday.  I went with two fellow bloggers and friends, Karen and Wendy.  Such a fun day!  We chattered, saw lots of beautiful quilts, had lunch, and spent lots of time stuck in traffic.

Here's a picture of the opportunity quilt that I was absolutely certain I would win.

It was made from Carrie's Cracked Pots pattern.  The colors are a little different in this picture, but you'll have to trust me when I say it was one gorgeous quilt.  I'm still waiting for the phone to ring, even though the drawing was on Saturday.

And here's my friend Ellen (The Quilting Station) at her vendor booth.

I love the quilt top hanging behind her.  It's made with a Green Tea Bali Pop,
and it's even prettier in person.

The quilt show was held at a middle school, and I was fascinated by the painted ceiling tiles in the hallways.  My apologies to all the people I tripped over as I photographed the ceiling. :-)

Wonder if my boss would let me paint the ceiling tiles in my office?

Have a great week!

That quilt is absolutely gorgeous...I'm thinking they may have been to busy to call on Saturday...I'm sure you'll get a call today. Love the ceiling tiles. What a great idea for a middle schoold.

I hope you get that phone call! Beautiful quilt. I think the ceiling tiles should be painted in doctor's offices too.

Beautiuful quilt! I've had the same problem with blogger for weeks now, and a friend told me that when you sign into Google, to leave the "Keep Me Signed In" box unchecked. I have no idea why that works, but it does! I haven't had a single problem commenting since I started doing that! Have a great week! :0)

What a gorgeous raffle quilt!
When our high shool was remodeling I heard they took down teh painted tiles so I asked the art teacher about teh one my dd did and he snuck it out of the school to give me. It is such a fun thing for the kids to do and see for many years.

I've had the same problem, Kim! I found out signing in and unchecking "stay signed in" does the trick. I would be waiting for the phone to ring, too - gorgeous quilt! Oh - and the ceiling tiles - wow - I see some future quilters in there ;>) I say just paint those tiles in your office - they'll love it!
Cheers!

As far as the ceiling tiles go, maybe you could cover them with fabric, like a wallhanging, but on the ceiling? It wouldn't hurt to ask...

I like raffle quilts that look warm and comforting. Those are the ones I'd most like to win. This one would have been at the top of my list. I hope they made an outstanding amount of money with it.
Love those tiles.

I've had that same problem with blog comments! Will try the 'fix' suggested by a couple of your commenters :)

Hahaha -- that last comment made me look up at the ceiling to see if I had a ceiling to be painted -- you get the prize for sucking the reader in LOL! I love that opportunity quilt (and the name LOL) -- imagining it in lots of different color combos too! Thanks for sharing!

I'm with you, I would have been in everyone's way looking at the ceiling tiles. The quilt is beautiful.

The colors used for the Cracked Pots quilt are so me. I have one cut out but have no idea what fabrics I used. Guess I should be working on it instead of having it sit in the closet. Wonder how Carrie came up with the "Cracked Pots" name.

I can't wait to show my daughter, she is a high school art teacher. Those painted ceiling tiles are so cool! I would probably never have seen them, I never seem to look up! Thank you for showing us.

I'm a middle school art teacher...the favorite 8th grade project each 9 weeks is painting a ceiling tile. We have over 400 painted around the school. It's beautiful. We started in 1999.
My daughter is a quilter. She loves your quilts!
