Quilt designs don't typically just pop into my head. I'm not very imaginative. I play around with blocks on the computer until I see something I halfway like. So when I dreamt about this quilt a few nights ago (probably the salsa I ate way too late), I couldn't wait to see how it worked out.
These are just some of the units thrown up on my design wall in no order.
I have a long way to go before it turns into a quilt, but I'll be sharing my progress as I go.
And maybe do a tutorial -- it's so much fun!
Have a great day!
Kim

Maybe I should eat salsa late in the evening! Perhaps you've started a new trend in quilt design. This is spectacular. Special ruler?
Such a fun quilt! Keep eating salsa and having those design dreams.

Sometimes those late night salsa raids lead to incredible things! WOW! What a fabulous design, Kim - I can't wait to see how this is all put together. I also just love the deep colors you've used! Bravo!

Love what you've done so far and can't wait to see more.
Oh Kim that is so fun! Love it!
You ALWAYS amaze me!!! Just look at you AND I might add....lovely fabric choices!! You've come a long way since we first "blog met"...I'm talking moving away from those browns, civil wars etc. I too am learning it is so FUN to work with something "out of the ordinary for me." Though....still decorate my home with those old worn colors. :-) This one won't be for a book since your offering a tutorial soon?
love it!
This looks great so far. Love the bright "salsa-like" colors.. I would love to see the tutorial in the future! Love it.

So will you be calling it "Salsa"?
There's a bit of a food theme going on here - my word verification is "cakes"
