That's what I say when I'm busy, but not accomplishing anything that really needs to be done. I'm not sure if piddling is a verb, but that's what my grandmother used to say, and I can't think of a better way to describe my weekend. Except for too short. A little of the time spent piddling was on these blocks. They're made using the Cross My Heart pattern in my new book. Instead of using a single background fabric, I used lots of little scraps to make light and dark blocks. And instead of an on-point setting, I'll be using a straight setting for these.
Don't forgot to listen in at 4:00 p.m. Eastern today for the live broadcast where I'll be chatting with Pat Sloan on American Patchwork & Quilting Radio.
Just click HERE to get there. If you can't listen today, you can always listen later
on your computer, by subscribing to iTunes (search American
Patchwork & Quilting), or by downloading to a player.
Hope you have a great week!

Sounds like fun, piddling around. I think my grandmother used that expression as well. LOL.
Now here in Uk........
piddling is also used as in
piddling with rain or
I piddled myself .............lol
I love little scrappy pieces used for blocks and yours look smashing : )
What a happy pile of prettiness. If that's how you piddle, I like it. :o)
Well, I think you have a lovely pile of "piddling" fabrics there mam'.
How pretty! Congratulations on being on the Pat Sloan radio talk!
Yippee! So excited I'll have something fun to listen to on my walk tomorrow morning. I hard my podcasts for that. :-) Can't wait!
I bet your piddling is wonderful and is how you come up with so many neat designs.
Piddling means something a bit different here! Looks like you are having fun though.
Piddling is one of my favorite things to do and I am quite good at it! LOL
Piddling is my favorite pasttime -- and sometimes it's amazing how much you can get done while piddling. I love those pretty little blocks!
I like the word "piddling" and use it quite often, as did my mom and my grandma. It MUST be a real word!
What a cute little pattern....and I like the scrappy idea, of course!
LOL....my mom always used the word piddling so it brings a smile to me for sure!! Very pretty blocks.
In New Zealand 'piddling' means the same as 'peeing', so i had to laugh when I read that your Grannie said it all the time...she would have gotten some strange looks there!!!
My grandmother and Mama used to say that, too. It's a funny word. Love the blocks you did. Those would make great leader-enders, and could be completely scrappy, if needed.
