Happy National Quilting Day!

How are you celebrating?

Me?  More of the same.  Working on another Courthouse Steps quilt.
I think this is my favorite block ever.

And growing my stash a little.

I have a serious dot problem.

I'm also gathering up quilts for a book signing/trunk show/play day at A & E Fabric, Variety & Craft Store in Pensacola next Saturday.  I'll be there from 10:00 to 1:00, or until they kick me out.  Don't laugh -- it's happened before.  I blogged about this magical place a long time ago here.  If you're within driving distance (or maybe have your own helicopter), I'd love for you to drop by and hang out with us.  The quilts from my new book will be on display, and I could use a little help deciding which fabrics to use for my next project.  Hope to see you there!

  1. I have a dot problem too so I totally understand. My poor dot quilt has been sitting completely neglected for a year now *sniff*. Must make that a priority as soon as tax season is over.

Have fun at your book signing!

  5. Love your courthouse steps blocks with the 30s fabrics, Kim. My favorite blocks are and will always be the traditional ones.
I'm celebrating the WWQDay by starting a new quilt--pieced variant log cabin blocks + applique. I really enjoy starting something different from what I've made before. This one fits that category.
    Vive La Quilting!!!

  8. Beautiful courthouse steps Kim. We stayed in Pensecola a few weeks ago and I did not know about A & E. Next time I'm stopping. Have fun at your book signing.

  9. Oh how I miss A & E - loved them when I lived in P'cola and they kept me sane when quilt stores were non-existant after Hurricane Katrina! Maybe I can sneak away next Saturday and come for a visit.

  10. Hi Kim, I'm with you that is one of my favorite blocks to make. Just the plain old simple blocks. They are the best.
I love dots too. Can't get enough of them.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  16. Another pretty quilt in the making, Kim. I just purchased Scrap-Basket Beauties for my quilt guild and know, after looking through it, that it will be very popular. (I hope that I can give it up!)

  17. Love the Courthouse Steps blocks - so fresh looking in 30's prints. Where you have a dot problem, with me it's stripes. I especially adore a sriped bias binding. I've bought striped fabric for a binding and then designed a quilt to go with it.

  18. I love your dots so much. What a great collection. Your fun 30's courthouse steps are awesome, too.

BTW, what part of FL are you in? My parents are in Ft. Myers. Would love to have you sign my books someday. :-) I have them all....
