Simple Style

Stylish and simple -- it doesn't get better than that. Sara Diepersloot has made it easy to create beautiful quilts in a lot less time. She uses fabric to create the style, and large pieces for simplicity.

We don't always have time to make quilts using hundreds of tiny pieces, but we can still whip up beautiful quilts using large pieces if we let our fabrics do the work.
Sara has included 20 projects, including large quilts (up to 89" in length), lap quilts, baby quilts, and table runners.

Although some of the quilts have large triangles, most are made using only squares or rectangles.
All of these quilts are perfect for gifts.  You can personalize them with your own fabric choices.
These are only a few of my favorite quilts from the book.  There are so many more!  You can see a gallery of more of the sample projects by clicking HERE

If you'd like to win your own copy of Sara's book, make sure you leave a comment here.  To make it more fun, tell me what you'll do with the extra time you'll have on your hands after you make one of these quilts.

Hope you're having a good weekend.  I'll announce the winner on Wednesday -- see you then!

Kim

What pretty quilts! I especially like the last one, I seem to have a real thing for stars lately☺
With all the extra time I'd save I'd probably make more quilts! LOL

Ha ha Crafty Mama beat me to it - I'd use the time to make more quilts!!

Just those few photos have reminded me that I have a lot of large-scale fabrics that would be nicely highlighted by a simple pattern like those. Thanks!

This sounds like a neat book. I have a lot of Japanese prints (large scale) that would look good in some of those quilts. If I had a bit of extra time, I would catch up on my reading, quilt books that is!!!

I really really want this book, seriously! I love all of the quilts you've shown us. I'm thinking I want to make that one and that one and that one too. What would I do if this book saved me so much sewing time? I would probably do something crazy like clean the floor, nah, I would sew something else that I have waiting around to be sewn. Or I could play with my dogs. Thanks so much for telling us about this book. If I'm not lucky enough to win, I'll probably buy it when I find it.

This looks like a great book and one I'd love to add to my library. With a little more time, I'd probably read one of the half dozen books on my nightstand that is waiting for me...just can't seem to get out of the sewing room with enough in me to read more than a few pages a night!

I would feel more complete....when I finish a quilt, I get this most satisfying feeling like I have accomplished something wonderful and it just makes me feel so good inside....self satisfaction is what I would have more of.

I've been looking for ideas to help me use some very special fabrics that I don't want to cut too small. I see some possibilities from the pages of this book. Thanks for the giveaway, Kim.

With my extra time, I'm sure I'd try to make more quilts for donating, especially to Quilts for Kids and QOV.

I should use all the extra time to clean house, or exercise, or work in the garden, or....but I would probably start another quilt. Pick pattern. Sort fabric. It's an addiction. Honestly.

Great book, if I don't win it I'll have to buy it. Extra time, what's extra time...start another quilt of course.

Thanks for showing such a great book! The first quilt would be the perfect pattern for the "Pack Your Bags" fabric I've been saving. I'd probably spend my extra time finishing a cross stitch piece (my other addiction).
