There hasn't been a lot of sewing going on around here, but my rotary cutter and I have been doing some serious work. I'm cutting 2 1/2" strips for several new projects. These are 1930s reproduction prints (and a few look-alikes) that I'll be using for a sweet, happy little quilt.
These fabrics came from Randi's Etsy shop, Fresh-Squeezed Fabrics. If you haven't been there, hop over and take a look. She has some very interesting and colorful fabrics. My quilts were beginning to look alike, so I decided to work with something radically different from my usual fabrics. These prints are so much fun!

Simply drooling. :-)
Box being sent tomorrow...it is in the car!
Cool new fabric choices. I especially like the middle picture selection.
Not much sewing or even cutting going on in my house. Hope to work on another baby quilt soon though. Will be eager to see what comes of these strips you've cut.
So many wonderful fabrics! Do you have any good tips for cutting lots of 2 1/2" strips?
My tastes have certainly changed since I started quilting. Plus now I like to work with such a variety of fabrics to keep from getting bored. Looking forward to seeing what you're making with your 30s fabrics.
Beautiful fabrics. hugs from Brazil
Gotta love fabric photos! I suppose my tastes have changed over the years too. I guess I like pretty much everything except country/primitive.
Those are some great fabrics! I love lots of different colors in quilts, but I seem to buy crazy or boring stuff that doesn't seem to belong in anything. They call that "eclectic" right?
Oh, dear. Another appealing place to visit online, which probably will mean another change in my credit card balance. Her fabrics are not my usual taste, but I know I need to broaden my horizons, and her selections are lovely.
I'm looking forward to seeing your next projects, whenever you're able to share them with us.
I love the top fabrics, I'm making a hexagon quilt in the same fabric. Love to see what you make out of yours.
Hi Kim! I'm a "brownie," too. :) I reckon you know that though. Look at the cut fabric. How fun. I know how much you do enjoy cutting so I'm happy you've been able to do some of that.
I enjoyed reading about your fabric choices, how things were starting to look alike and you went for something new. I luv your choices. Rock on!!! *karendianne.
Kim, I am starting to use brown myself. Never was a big fan, but am beginning to see some great rich browns available.
Can't wait to see what you do with the 30s fabrics!

I've got 2 baby quilts in the works using 30's fabrics. They are so cheerful and fun to sew!
I look forward to seeing what you are working on.
I love some of those fabrics, but you really shouldn't have bought me those jelly rolls (giggle)
ooooh, Lots of sweet eye candy. I am wondering what you might do with all those 2 1/2" strips! I am imagining a couple different things. I wonder what you will choose! I can't wait to find out..
Absolutely love your quilts!! I can hardly wait to see what you are up to! And thanks for visiting my blog as well!
Cutting fabric sounds like a treat to me...no doubt you have some kind of sweet quilt up your sleeve. I have been collecting a variety of colors that knock me out of my usual color comfort zone, too.
Brown is a rich and wonderful thing if you ask me. :) So many good things come to mind when I think of the color brown ~ all yummy!

I love brown too. It's soft and warm, goes well with many different colors and it's so popular right now. Great time to stock up!

Yum!
It's funny how we get into colour/fabric ruts, eh?
I'm forcing myself out of my pink rut and declaring my quilt studio a "pink free" zone for a while! It's good to challenge myself and try new things.
Still cutting?
They are such a beautiful fabrics! I can't wait to see what you will come up with.
I'm going to be funny here....you still can't be cutting!! What is going on over there?!!
These fabrics are gorgeous...love all the pictures. Now we have to wait and see what you are going to make with all the strips.
